Imperial® Veneer Basecoat was designed as a high-strength base for veneer plaster systems. We use it exactly that way—as the base—then apply a hand-troweled finish coat that becomes your final surface. The result is a durable, character-rich wall with no Level 4/5, no primer, and no paint.
Applied over ultralight gypsum drywall prepared to receive plaster. This coat levels, bonds, and builds strength for the finish.
A hand-troweled decorative layer that sets the look—subtle trowel marks, soft movement, and tonal depth. This is the visible, final surface.
Note: The basecoat is not left exposed. The finish coat provides the color and character while the basecoat provides the backbone.
Instead of paint-flat uniformity, this finish embraces the artisan hand—gentle waves, feathered edges, and light-catching trowel traces. It’s ideal for farmhouse, historic, and European-inspired interiors seeking warmth and authenticity.
Dust or wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrub pads. Periodic touch-ups can be blended by hand if desired.
We serve New York City, Westchester County, and the Hudson Valley.
